music floating through the window

watching Breakfast at Tiffany's tonight, and I hear this quiet french horn music in the background. Seems like an odd time in the film to have music, but such is such. A little later, I wander downstairs and to my surprise I look out my window and the neighbour next door is playing his french horn.
The music wasn't coming from the movie but from my own life...a much needed little moment in a rather un-fun day.

Now comes tomorrow, where I will need to work out with my "health insurance company" and figure out why they led me to believe I had coverage when really I didn't. Now I'm out $175 because I was an "error" in their system. Can't wait! Clearly, they will be pricks and not honour my insurance claim, because at the time, I was told (on the phone, when I called in to ensure I was covered for my new glasses) that I had coverage for what I wanted to do.

Wish me luck! Most likely a second day, in a row, where I'll end up crying. Not a good start to the week, most definitely. Friday cannot come any soon.

sunshine, ice cream and shopping

Met up with friends from university in Guelph this sunday. Downtown Guelph shopping, I'm in love! Found the cutest necklace and a great new ring. Oh, and coconut ice cream is my new fav.
And a great lunch to boot...at a place called Diana Downtown. Completely not what I expected, the outside does not do the restaurant justice.
Found a new jewelry store which I love, my friend has been shopping there for awhile now...and now I need to go back, so much stuff. Although, as always the pieces that I adore, they're far to expensive to justify me buying them.

This weekend has been a fairly decent one. Friday, went to a friend's stag and doe (even though that was a bit of a gongshow, and not in a good way!). However, I was able to see friend's I haven't seen in awhile. Also, first ever experience inside a strip club. Very underwhelmed experience, the movies definitely overdo the whole atmosphere. Or it could have been a blah night, or the fact that I was extremely tired and just wanted to take my contacts out. Who knows! But now I can say I've been in one.

Saturday consisted of me sleeping in for once, 11:30am that is. Trekked down to Westdale to see what that is all about. Not that exciting, however ended up buying a couple books and some amazing hand lotion (cherries, pomagranate and jasmine = yummy!). But got a serious walk in, so that was a bonus. Didn't see the point in driving on such a gorgeous day for only a 15 min walk. Also invested in an exercise ball, far cheaper than I thought it would be. And now I don't have an excuse not to work out much more than what I'm doing now.

I've also decided that I'm going to start doing more running, a friend from this weekend apparently runs up to 9km. Which is amazing. A little inspiration I guess!!! All I know, is I'm definitely out of shape and would love to loose 5-10 lbs before the wedding in July.

Fingers crossed. Monday is a fresh start!

fireworks and Baby Mama

Totally surprised by Baby Mama! Thought it was going to be total crap ended up being hilarious...pleasantly surprised. I think I laughed more than my friend who dragged me to see it, or maybe I was just in that kind of mood. Who knows!!

And another pleasant surprise on the drive home...taking the back way from Woodstock and looking out my window I see fireworks that someone was setting off on their farm. It was great, put a smile on my face. Was going to stop, but kept going. Forgot it was Victoria Day Weekend, but the fireworks brought me back to reality.

Blossoms, Laughs and Sake

Fourth day of my co-op and enjoyed a great moment...

Cherry Blossoms are out and a group of us from work made a visit with some sake in hand. This was a first for me...both trying sake and also, enjoying the gorgeousness of the Cherry Blossoms. No pictures unfortunately, maybe I'll come across some from others while I'm here for the summer.

Even though the sun wasn't out and it was chilly and threatening to rain it was still a great time. Glad I got to enjoy something which should become an annual event!

Co-op consists of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton/Burlington, Ontario. Working as a GIS Tech, as of yet, I still am not sure what it's going to involve. Hopefully getting out and experiencing most of the gardens. They all seem amazing!
I'm definitely out of the loop when it comes to knowing anything about the plant world, but that's why I took this position, I knew it would be an interesting and exciting opportunity.

Living in a new place, as well. Hamilton, subletting from a Mac student. A basement room, so far I have the place to myself. So I'll have to wait and see what comes next. I'm staying positive none the less. The other people living in the house invited me to their house party they had last night. But definitely wasn't feeling it, all people I didn't know and lots of people getting drunk where I was the sober sally of the group. Oh well, ce la vie. I definitely did miss the living from the parentals. Hopefully only 8 more months of that while in school, then I can move on to somewhere new!

Here's to hopes that this will be a amazing summer, with awesome experiences, new faces, and great stories!!! Well, at the least some nifty snaps of the gardens.
