it seems somebody thinks i have potential

today was another first. My first interview for working out in the "real world". Mind you only a 4 month contract position, but it was a job. I'm not sure how it went, actually. I got mixed messages...
The entire interview took a total of approx. 30 mins to do.
However, the woman showed me around the office (including the back rooms!?!?), as well as introducing me to everyone who was working at that moment in the office (including a cute irish guy, who was sadly finishing up his last week there, sigh!). She also gave me examples of articles and papers/magazines they contribute/create, and showing me some of the work I'd be doing.

So, it's hard to say what they thought of me. No doubt I had to get a cold, so I was sick while in this interview. I also seemed to ramble a bit, because I was nervous and am never good in interview-situations.

I'm not going to get my hopes up because that usually backfires, but it would be an interesting place to work at, with a chance for me to do a lot of stuff I've wanted to gain experience in. So, who knows. Again, I'm not gonna get too excited or hold my breath.

One perk I did like about it: It's in Waterloo. Already got the question of would I be moving there, from the parentals...can't acutally say yet, because I was only interviewed today not offered the job.

Oh well, it was an experience, I feel a little better for future interviews to come because now I have a better idea of what to expect, and questions they may ask me. Most of, let's be serious, all of my jobs have consisted of summer student positions or part-time jobs on campus these past 4 years so those types of interviews I noticed are QUITE different from this one. Yah me, growing up. Becoming an adult *shudder*.

I think that's the biggest news I've got right now relating to my life. Other than that, job hunting as per usual. Gymming it up, and chillin at home with my dog!

Oh, and I will admit this...I do enjoy the new Paris Hilton song. I'm a total sucker for over-the-top, obviously computer enhanced pop! I can't help it, their catchy lyrics and dancable tune totally pulls me in. I'm like a moth to a flame, try my hardest to avoid it...but inevitably I'll be right there with it on repeat on iTunes.

Dear bad drivers

When the light turns green, that tends to be your signal to place your foot on the gas and chug along down the road. Not sit and wonder why I'm behind you with my horn on! And...
When you're in the middle lane of a three lane Canadian highway, and a massive 18-wheeler is riding up your ass, that would be a good time to flick on the ol' turn signal and get out of his way. Not continue down the way as though you are number one and he can dink around waiting for you. It doesn't matter if you're American and have little concept of the metric system, if someone is driving much faster behind you. Get out of the way!! Yes, most of you american's seem to be quite scared to move anywhere other than the middle lane, but us people with km's on the car's gage have a better idea of how fast we're going...as the old saying goes: Move it or Lose it!!! (This is of no reflect of my entire opinion of americans, just those who do not know how to drive on Canadian highways!!)

After having to drive around four counties this summer, and last...I've come to the realization that most driver's should not be licensed. Now, I'm not the best myself...but when it comes to common sense situations, I think I do ok.
